Christmas at London zoo

There are lots of things to do at Xmas at London zoo, all
the reindeer will be there for you to feed and to watch.  There will be a Santa Clause there for the
children and the children can decorate gingerbread men.

The whole zoo will be decorated with the seasons greetings
and there will be gifts to buy in the shop. 
It is a great place to go for the coming festivities.

Halloween at the Zoo

Halloween at London zoo will involve lots of creepy crawly animals
that come out in the dark.  Still
decorated with pumpkins and the traditional feast you will love it this year.

Bobcat

Bobcats come from Canada and are pretty.  They are similar to a lynx but smaller in
size and build.

They eat mice and rabbits and have to run fast to get away from
their predators.  They like to stalk
around a large territory and can fend for themselves in forests, near rivers
and even the desert.

They like to just roam around in these unchartered areas,
sleeping and catching their dinner as and when they feel like it, with no one to
disturb them.

Penguin Feed

At Birdland Park there are feeds and talks, which make a
great day out.  Today they are feeding
the Penguins.  This is a good one to see
as they are so funny.

There are different things to do each day so it is always
worth a visit to see something new.

Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru is
the place to go if you want to see rhino. 
There are lots of white rhino as you can see some black rhino that have
now increased in numbers after nearly being wiped out.

It is a great
day out because there are lots of other wildlife living there that enjoy being
seen. Lions, leopard, zebra, gazelle and the famous Rothschild
giraffe.  Birds flamingo, pelican, osprey, crow and the small hummingbird.

The Peatlands Code

Peatlands are a precious source of drinking water, they need to be
protected and cared for in a much more effective way for the future.

They are an important resource for humans and animals and the peatlands
have now come to prominent attention.

There should be the money there now to keep these areas in good
codition because they do so much good for the environment.

Bumble bees at home in Scotland

Bubble bees are thriving in Scotland after a farmer bought a
special seed mix from the RSPB.  Part of
the flower mix was Borage and the bees love it.

It has also attracted other wildlife and you can buy the
seed mix yourself from www.rspb.org.uk
