The Portuguese man of war is deadly with no known cure, beautiful and there is very little known about it because it does not survive in captivity. It is found in the Gulf Stream, Caribbean and even the English Channel. The man of war rises above the water and floats there with shots of electric blue, it look pretty and harmless but beneath the water are hundreds of poisonous tentacles.
These tentacles can easily be mistaken for seaweed and therefore attract unsuspecting fish that are then poisoned on contact and eaten. If a human accidentally gets trapped within the tentacles he will have to be rushed to hospital. There are some antidotes but there is no known cure and the man of war can easily kill a man.
Surprisingly they do have some enemies. The loggerhead turtle, this is a huge turtle weighing 500 pounds. It is virtually immune to their poisonous stings and just plough straight through them and eat the man of war.
